TAMPA, Fla — A local community group is asking for donations of baby dolls this Mother's Day to help Alzheimer's and dementia patients in Bay Area nursing homes.

The idea is to give them a life-size baby doll for them to love and care for, said Charlie Young, with The Community Roots Collective, based in Tampa. The organization is looking for new or gently-used life-size baby dolls, blankets or clothes for this project.

Anyone who has an organization or donation and would like to join in on the project or drop off a delivery can do by dropping off items before Saturday, May 12 at 1:30 PM at the Community Roots Collective headquarters, located at:

Community Roots Collective
2746 N. Florida Avenue
Tampa, FL 33602
(813) 515-0825 ext 0

The dolls will then head to a local nursing home.

The Community Roots Collective is a 501c3 non-profit.
